And yes, that's extremely annoying.

What kind of guns do you shoot?

Well, on my rifle team (Where I shot that target) we shoot German-made Anschutz .22 caliber target rifles from prone position, using a sling.
We shoot in a 50-foot indoor target range, and do competitions against other schools and such.

I shoot on my property, too. I have a Savage .17 HMR with a Center Point 4-16x scope and a Rock-Mount bipod that I use for target shooting, and a Remington 700 .270 that I use for hunting and long-range shooting.

How bout you?

I shoot a .22 CZ sport rifle (completely open post sights) at 50 feet; prone, sitting and standing. I won my state's 4-H competition with it :D
I've only shot with a scope once in my life lol. I also shoot a .177 cal compressed air pistol.

Doubt I could, you're upset over getting one nine on an otherwise perfect target? I rarely get perfect targets in prone, and that's with only five shots per target.

I'm not like super upset over it (It is a pretty nice target, I guess) It's just disappointing that I completely missed one shot, while all the others were perfect

I understand that feeling completely. What's worse for me is when I shoot a perfect prone target, than completely mess up my standing target... :?

I've never shot standing before... When you shoot standing, how do you hold the rifle? Because I've seen people shoot standing before, and they sorta stand with their feet apart and kinda rest their elbow on their hip. and also, are the targets bigger for standing?

I shoot that way, yes, but that's not the only way I've seen. No, the targets are the same size. It's rather annoying at times, especially with no slings or stuff. The 4-H program has a .22 "target" discipline where you can use slings, jackets, special shoes, and hooded sights, but a LOT fewer people participate in that, mainly because the equipment's so expensive. It's about $300 bucks for a good .22 sport rifle, but for the target rifle gun + equipment it's a couple grand. Have you ever shot in 4-H? Or just your school team?

No, I've never been in 4-H, Just on my school's team. And yeah we use the target setup, It does get pretty expensive. The guns are in the $2,000 range, sometimes even more, plus a jacket and sling. But luckily, all the equipment is provided for us to use. (one of our shooters does have her own gun, though) A lot of the schools we shoot against have better equipment than ours, but a lot of the time we win anyway  I would like to have my own gun to use, so I could customize everything. (Length, angle, and shape of stock, height and angle of cheek rest, size of aperture, position of rear sight, and tilt of front sight, etc.) That way my hold on the rifle would be as stable as possible, so I could focus on sight alignment and breathing rather than shifting my arms around to try and get comfortable :P

I've always wanted to try target shooting. I've heard it's pretty easy if you've shot sport rifle, because you've had to deal with all those things you talked about in addition to breathing and natural point of aim etc. The targets are a lot smaller though, so it would be interesting for sure. Have your ever shot pistols?

No, I've never shot a pistol. (unless you count airsoft pistols, lol) I think it would be interesting to try, though.
I just don't know of anywhere that I could shoot one, or else I would definetly consider it.
