Yes, only the higher end drum kits from pearl sound good.

What cymbals do you guys use? I use Zildjians, but I'm thinking about buying a Wuhan (china).

Acrylic FWIR has a very different sound. Apparently wood/metal sound much better.

Zildjians
K Custom hybrid hats and ride (<3)
A crash
Some other Crash (idk what series)
I have a Wuhan 14" It works for me i like it - not long sustain. I had a 12" one - it shattered. I wouldn't personally spend $100s on a fancy China
And a Paiste 2002 series 4" accent cymbal just cuz i had extra money.
I have a Wuhan splash. It only sounds good over heavier stuff, so i don't use it much

yeah but they're cheap so it's easy to replace. And i beat the hell out of my 14" and it's still in great condition. Maybe it's only the 12" that's crap?
